Do You Feel

How many times on this blog site alone have I mentioned how much I love Bryce Avery and his vision for The Rocket Summer. One man bands, let me tell you.

I actually have nothing to say. I'm too much in aw.

On September 5, 2008, Bryce officially released his newest music video for "Do You Feel", off his album of the same title. You may have seen pictures circulating through different media forms of people with a hand up and words written on it. Yup, that all comes from Bryce.

I wanted badly to post the video on here, but I can't seem to get the information I need for it. I could get it off youtube and stick it up, but the quality just isn't there. So read what he has to say (taken off his own blog at www.myspace.com/therocketsummer) and then head on over to the link I've posted on the bottom. I hope this video does to you what it does to me. I got chills and teary eyed. If you're a true TRS fan you might get that too. If you really understand what Bryce stands for and what he's trying to do, then there's no way you couldn't feel the same things I felt.

"Hey guys,
I just finished putting together a video for the song 'Do You Feel' with my friend Nate Weaver. This video was shot in California, Texas, Washington and Africa. I wrote the song 'Do you feel' about how there are so many issues in the world, and how we all deep down want to help but have our own issues that get in the way. I wanted to shoot a video that really captured this with the hope of it really lighting a fire in people. I wanted a video that inspired. This video features real people with real stories of homelessness, addiction, and disease as well as some friends of mine that we've toured with over the years. These people are Andrew McMahon of Jack's Mannequin, Matt Thiessen of Relient K, Josh Farro and Jeremy Davis of Paramore, Forrest Kline of Hellogoodbye, Mike Herrera of MxPx, Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low and Jonathan Cook of Forever The Sickest Kids. I had an idea and a really small budget as I paid for this entirely myself and I couldn't be happier about how it turned out."

p.s. if for some reason the sound doesn't work (it won't on this particular computer) head to his myspace, start the music there, then start the video. it really isn't that difficult to align them.
