Well, I haven't written in over a week so I suppose I should. There isn't really anything I've been pondering and feel the need to write about, so I guess this will be another update-type blog.
Last night I started working at Coldstone Creamery in downtown Boise. Let me just tell you how much this job rocks. 1) free really good ice cream 2) money 3) it's not that hard to get promoted and raises 4) it's in freaking downtown Boise 5) it's on the best street in downtown Boise. That's right, 8th street. Let me tell you a little about 8th street. The amazingness of 8th street starts right about where the Coldstone shop is. This is where you can now find all the best places to eat. Everything from the Pie Hole to fancier restaurants, coffee shops, amazing sandwiches, and now fantastic ice cream. Now don't get me wrong, not all the best places to eat are on 8th street, but a very nice selection. Go farther down 8th street and you hit the Grove. Um a big open place with a fountain you can run around in and live music on occasions? I vote yes. Farther down even more you hit the best place to see midnight movie showings - Edwards Downtown. Oh yes the best theater in Boise. And oooh so cheap. Well, discounted that is. I, again, vote yes. Go down even further and you hit the LIBRARY! (not just any library, it has an exclamation point...on the building. ya it's that intense) and then you hit the green belt. SO convenient to my life. I can make it on my bike in about 15-20 minutes depending on the day. Awesome. So anyway, I'm pretty stoked about that. Plus, my friend Reggie, only like THE coolest black kid, is working there too. Talk about a party.
This week my mom and I are going to start looking for apartments for me and my friend Genevieve. So excited. There's some really cool places downtown (including one right above Coldstone. SUCH a freaking cool building. Dang, gotta love Boise.
I'm writing a lot more songs now. There's a lot of time when I'm home alone so I get to just do whatever. I hope to be hitting up the studio within the next couple of weeks. I've also got a bunch of tshirt ideas for my line. About a dozen in my head and 5 drawn and only 1 on the computer. I should probably get on that.
This week is an ENTIRE week of writing LOVE on your arm for To Write Love On Her Arms. Check out their website at towriteloveonherarms.com. This is something I really believe in guys. And I will most definitely be sporting the word LOVE or one of the campaigns many slogans on my arms all week.
And lastly, as cool as Boise is (p.s. it really is) I'm really looking forward to my vacations. In just a week and a half I get to go to Portland for the Irish dancing competition. I compete in singing on Sunday, and my sister dances Saturday and Sunday. But we are leaving Friday morning, shopping Friday (this is when I get my BEST shoes. I am in love with their Nordstroms Rack), and then I get ALL of Saturday to hang out with my friends. Austin and Brian, I am really excited to see you. Plus they have the Rose Festival that weekend (cool a festival about me, right on i vote yes) so there's a carnival and stuff. Ya I'm exciting. And THEN in A MONTH TO THE DAY I get to go to Salt Lake for another competition! I sing Friday night for this one and my sister dances Saturday. BUT this time, it means we leave Friday, I sing and then go out to dinner (and maybe WALL-E? again i vote yes) with Ellen Lo and Spencer, then ALL SATURDAY IS WARPED TOUR with Ellen and Lo! Forever the Sickest Kids here I come. It will also be my first time seeing a ton of bands like We The Kings and The Maine. I am so beyond excited for The Maine, the Kings, and the Kids. Then Sunday, well there's some issues with Sunday. The people we are driving down with want to leave Saturday. I will be so utterly disappointed if we don't stay for Sunday. Sunday is Spencer's farewell. Ellen Lo and I all really want to go together. If they leave, then boo on them. Spencer, I know I said I might not be there, and I still might not, but danged I will fly home if I have to. Which is now an option. So the possibility of all of us being there just increased very mucho. Then a month after that, my family takes a round trip cruise out of Seattle up to Alaska. This will be my third cruise to Alaska, but this time it's a different boat, different company, different just about everything. So I look forward to that. Plus I'm 19 and we stop in Victoria which means I can legally drink. And I LOVE Victoria. Sweet. Then we are into August when hopefully Ellen will be coming to stay with me in Boise for the weekend. Wahoo! And in between all of this I will be camping YAHOO! I've never been camping.
And that's it for now. I'm going to go shower? Probably. Maybe look at an apartment today. Probably play guitar. Then hit up a party. Cool.
Have good days,
