I need a break
With so much going on I just really need a break. A long one. Or at least longish. More than a day would be pleasant. No school, no work, no plans, and no obligations to do anything or see anyone. It's not that I don't want to see you, it's just that making plans of any kind is stressing me out.
About three days would be nice.

Wonderful Tuesday
I love Tuesdays. Why? New music releases. MMMMM! What did this Tuesday bring us? This Providence released The Bright Lights EP, The Friday Night Boys released their new EP, and A Rocket To The Moon released the Greetings From...EP. And that's just from Fueled By Ramen. So far I've only purchased Greetings From... and I haven't decided on whether or not to purchase The Bright Lights EP. They have an album being released in early 2009 with basically the same material. So I think I will wait. I really only need to worry about one song, "Sand In Your Shoes" not being released on the album. But I think it will be. Anyway, thank you Tuesday. Greetings From... is fantastic. Good job Nick. Though, I can't help but wonder how he's taking the changes of going to 'electronic' to 'alternative'. I like to think he was only electronic because that is what he had access to when releasing his previous EP. Yes, lets go with that.
I think my next paycheck from my second job will go almost completely to the purchase of new music. And by "new" I really mean music that I just don't currently have on my harddrive. And by "almost completely" I mean it will probably pay for some concert tickets as well.
Kelly, did you just say second job? Why get a second job? You have a perfectly good one at Coldstone? Isn't that enough? Well no, it's not enough guys. I'm a workaholic. No really, I love working. Maybe not going to work *ahem*Coldstone*ahem*, but I love working and having things to get done. Sure, Coldstone is a perfectly good job in the sense that I set up my schedule the way I like it, and I won't get fired, but the last thing I am going to do is work at some minimum wage job for the rest of my life. I vote no. So I got a second job through a family friend. Sweet. It's only stuffing envelopes for minimum wage, and it's only when they need me, but it's for a business consulting agency. I vote yes, but only because it's good networking. Ew networking. But it's more money for minimal work. And I work whenever I want. Sweet.
So why get a second job? I've got to support my music obsession somehow.

New Friends?
I love meeting new people. I hate networking - I'm generally too shy for that. I enjoy meeting those people, I just hate feeling like I'm selling them something. But I love just meeting people and enjoying their company. I think it's fun.

The Aforementioned Snow
I have decided that I am not angered or annoyed by the snow fall today, but amused, because I know it is only October and it will get warm again.
If it wasn't supposed to be 60 degrees and sunny next weekend, well my outlook would be very different. Lets just say I would be packing my things and going to visit my friends in Fort Lauderdale for quite some time.

This Providence
This Providence posted new songs on their Myspace page today.
MmmmmmmmmmmmmI'm excited! Love these guys.
The first song is a renovated version of My Beautiful Rescue. I do very much like it. Much heavier and more creative in the drums. It's also got some cello and is that violin I hear? I always approve of a good orchestra song to support a song. Also, some great guitar licks. It definately compliments the music. I love the piano as well. And the bass. Great bass. Love that kid. As for the lyrics - same, but pushed to meet the beat. Throws you off a bit if you know the song and expecting the pauses, but I think the new lyric format is working. The whole piece of working is giving a great feeling to dance.
Their new EP, The Bright Lights, drops October 14th. Seriously, GET IT! You can preorder now or wait and try and find it somewhere. It is going to be a GREAT piece of work.
And if you ever get the chance to go to a This Providence show, GO! It's completely worth it. Great music, great fun, and really great guys.

there's a word i want to use but i can't think of it
So I feel confident that at one time I wrote a blog about technology, but I either can't find it, or didn't actually write it. Both are possible.
Point is, people seem to think that I am technologically incompetent, when truth be told, I am actually quite competent. I get technology. Generally. Yes I have my issues (like my stupid new microphone I can't figure out) but excuse me when I feel that I know more than you about the current set up of the computers when I set up mine, yours, your printer, your extra computer, my printer, and my wireless system. And not only did I set them up, but I fix them. Constantly. So when I say, "Don't touch anything" I really and truly mean, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING! Do not change chords, do not upload anything, do not adjust anything without a previous consultation with me.
And I don't care if I didn't set up your computer and I'm not setting up your new one, but it's not rocket science. And there is NO POINT for you to fuck around with my setup when it in no way incoveniences you and your set up.
DON'T TOUCH STUFF THAT AIN'T BROKE!
